PROFILE

I am a Chinese scenic designer, founder of SLC (Shanghai Live Collective), Scenic Design Director of Shanghai Acrobatic Troupe, and senior member of the China Stage Art Society. I graduated from the Department of Stage Design at Shanghai Theatre Academy with an M.A. in Arts.

My practice spans immersive cultural tourism performance, drama, Chinese opera, acrobatics, and large-scale public events. I work with spatial narrative, digital media, lighting, projection, stage machinery, and local cultural memory to build live environments where the audience moves through story, atmosphere, and perception.

EXPERIENCE

Founder / Lead Scenic Designer | SLC (Shanghai Live Collective) | Shanghai, China – Current

Lead full-scope scenic and visual design for immersive tourism productions, drama, Chinese opera, and major events, integrating stage design, lighting, multimedia, sound, projection, XR, and production coordination.
Oversee concept development and execution for landmark projects including Unique Dream of Red Mansion, Impression Mazu, Meet Kashgar, and Xiamen University Centennial Celebration.

Provide scenographic leadership for theatrical and acrobatic productions, shaping spatial composition, visual rhythm, technical realization, and audience experience.

SELECTED PROJECTS

Lead Scenic Designer | Unique Dream of Red Mansion | Tourism-Integrated Performance | Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region, China

Led scenic design for The Illusion Theater, The Theater of Echoes, and The Reader’s Theater within a 228-acre immersive theater landmark containing 4 grand theaters, 8 smaller venues, and more than 100 themed spaces.
Directed a 30+ person design and production team over 260 days, delivering scenic solutions for more than 10 venues and producing over 10,000 design drawings.

Scenic Designer | Where the Rhododendrons Bloom | Drama | Nantong, China

Led full-scope visual design including scenic, lighting, costume, character styling, and multimedia design for a socially grounded drama inspired by volunteer teachers in Ninglang, Yunnan.

Scenic Designer | Enter the Forbidden City | Peking Opera | Nanjing, China – 2024

Led scenic and lighting design for a production selected for the 2024 National Arts Fund and recognized as an Outstanding Work at the 10th China Peking Opera Festival, using a “stage-within-a-stage” system with 13 mobile sub-stages.
