Zhengdao Wan, founder of Beijing Hazy Haze Studio and a PhD candidate in Lighting Design at The Central Academy of Drama. As a senior member of the China Stage Art Association and an Emerging Designer at the 4th China Stage Art Exhibition, he has been honored with the William Nelson Memorial Award, the highest lighting design prize at Carnegie Mellon University, and also won the Best Lighting Design award at the BFDG Award & Vectorworks Design Award 2024. His lighting design portfolio spans both theatre and large-scale events, including the Jackie Chan-directed opera ‘Turandot’, the musical ‘Electra’ (USA), the show ‘Qin Zheng’, the cultural tourism show ‘Hongye Shiyan Fantasy Liaozhai’, the Peking Opera ‘Chen Xian’s Dream’, the musical ‘Chinese Characters Time’, the modern dance ‘Emery-Haynes’ (USA), the show ‘Sender’ (USA), the immersive production ‘Lost in Play – Marie Dalgar Theatrical Journey’, the show ‘Yucun Notes: Hidden Notes’, the 2025 Liaoning TV Broadcast Snake Year People’s Spring Festival Gala, Zhejiang TV Broadcast 2024–2025 New Year’s Eve Concert, and the Teens in Times 5th Anniversary Concert, among others. With a lighting language that masterfully balances artistic depth and technical innovation, he consistently infuses the stage with unique vitality.
