Juntao Yang has served as Stage Designer for numerous works supported by the National Arts Fund of China, including:
- Opera Youth and You Forever at Central Conservatory of Music
- Drama Farewell at The Central Academy of Drama
- Children’s play Old Black the Dog Gets into Trouble at Beijing Children’s Art Theatre
- Musical Where the Heart Finds Peace at Guizhou Song and Dance Theatre
- Opera Yue Fei at Tianjin Conservatory of Music
- Acrobatic drama Grandpa Locust Tree at Henan Acrobats Association
Awards and Recognition
- The children’s play Three Monks, produced by China National Theatre for Children, received:
- Special Mention Award at the 25th Subotica International Children’s Theatre Festival
- Outstanding Production Award at the 8th International Theatre Academy Awards
- Selection for the 2014 Creative Animation Support Program Promoting Core Socialist Values by China’s Ministry of Culture
- Tree, produced by China National Theatre for Children, was selected for the Bucharest International Theatre and Children’s Arts Festival and was listed among the People’s Daily Recommended Productions of 2015.
- The drama Jumping the Wall won the highest honor of the Wuzhen Theatre Festival, the Town Theatre Award, and was selected for the Festival d’Avignon in 2015.
- The university history drama Blooming, produced by University of Science and Technology Beijing, received: A. Campus Theatre Award (the highest honor) at the 4th China Campus Theatre Festival; B. First Prize at the 4th Beijing University Student Theatre Festival; C. Outstanding Stage Design Award
- The acrobatic drama Grandpa Locust Tree and the children’s play Waka Waka – Candy Planet, produced by Henan Acrobats Association, received the Henan “Five-One Project” Award for Outstanding Cultural Works.
- The drama Little Hero Yu Lai, produced by Jilin University of the Arts, received the Changbai Mountain Literary and Arts Award.
