Edit Szűcs is a Hungarian textile, fashion and costume designer whose practice moves between contemporary theatre, film and visual art. Her work explores the relationship between the body, costume and identity, approaching costume as a “second skin” or body-mask that shapes our relationship with the world.
She has designed costumes for numerous theatre and film productions, including the Academy Award-winning film Son of Saul. She is also a member of the Természetes Vészek Kollektíva (Natural Disasters Collective), with whom she has created experimental “Costume-Fiction” performances since 2000. Szűcs is an Associate Professor at MOME, Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design Budapest.
