In Anathesi, directed by Avra Sidiropoulou, the lighting design was based on creating a futuristic, dystopian, and constantly shifting visual environment. Color served as a core dramaturgical tool: its bold shifts transform the space, echoing the characters’ psychological transitions and highlighting a sense of entrapment and the passage from the human to the mechanical. The circular stage emerges as an isolated site of observation and control, while light rising from within and beneath the structure suggests a hidden, underground mechanism at work. Combined with projections and vertical surfaces, the lighting bridged physical and digital space, shaping a world where the boundaries between human, power, and machine become increasingly blurred.
