Inspired by the Peking Opera “Zhong Kui Marries His Sister”.
Based on the characters in the Peking Opera “Zhong Kui marries his younger sister”, Zhong Kui was originally an extraordinary person in the folk story. He was intelligent and resourceful. But he was killed by evil spirits and evil spirits. His face was destroyed and he touched the pillar and died. However, he was righteous and still saved the monarch with his wronged soul. Therefore, he was awarded the title of “general to suppress evil and champion to envy evil”.
In the creation, the images of the clever ghost, the false ghost, the material ghost, the frivolous ghost and the Qiao ghost around Zhong Kui are integrated with Zhong Kui, which not only enriches the character image visually, but also endows the character with more unique modeling effect, and enriches the character image of Zhong Kui, the king of ghosts and the evil general in the folk story. It is more bold and colorful in the use of color, integrates the Temple Fair tour with the characteristics of Southern Fujian into the design, combines the character character with the traditional color and traditional opera expression forms, and reflects its rigidity, integrity and integrity in visual modeling.
Zhong Kui’s younger sister, Zhong Hua, is more petite against the background of her brother. The blue and white shape of her appearance serves to set off her poor family before her marriage, and the delicate appearance of the characters shows the sense of panic of Zhong Kui’s ghost state in the opera. Later, Zhong Hua changed from a short robe to a long skirt, which means that Zhong Kui added makeup to her younger sister, and makes the drama plot complete and the character image plump.

At present, I am studying for a master‘s degree in the Department of stage art of the National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts, majoring in Chinese opera modeling design.
